Falling For My Boss is yet another great story by JS Cooper.
Elizabeth is a struggling actress doing odd jobs for a Candy Gram company and gets a job to work as an assistant for a week and the do something to her boss at the office party at the end of the week. She agrees to take the job. Meanwhile her BFF Lacey and her keep talking daily until Lacey comes to visit and she convinces Eliza to go on a date with one if her matches on the dating site. Eliza does and ends up with date that is awful and a stranger who ends up being not so strange saves her from the date from hell. This man is Hot and Eliza is so attracted to him. She is torn by this man , her wants, and her job. What should she do? She wants him and still needs to protect herself from her past and all her insecurities as well. This is a must read for anyone that loves romance, suspense and hot lusty scenes.. I also love how some of JS Cooper's previous stories tie in....LOVED IT!
Although some of the content was previously seen in previous books, the events are told from the Eliza's POV as she & Scott navigate all the games/misunderstandings this group encounters as the couples in this series find their way to each other. I have to admit sometimes I wanted to choke Eliza as she willfully "over thought" each event looking for the worst possible explanation but if she knew how to trust in a relationship, the book would have been shorter and less engaging. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
I was enjoying this book. Not great but it was ok. Except, WTH happened at the end? It ended in a major cliffhanger that left me frustrated. To make matters worse, the author lists all her other books where we can read about the secondary characters but doesn't explain how we can read the end of this story. Uggggg. Very disappointing!
Oh my goodness i was given the arc of this book for an honest review..Well honestly i just love Jamie"s work she is brilliant keeps you laughing crying and hot ... When Elizabeth who is an aspiring actress is asked to play a trick on Scott Taylor she is reluctant to do so but the money is good so she says yes... Meeting Scott the weekend before she has to play his assistant was not planned but she has the best sex in her life with him...in the morning he's lies to her... Discovering this lie when she appears as his new assistant on the Monday morning is the the start of a love hate relationship between them both... within a week their sexual tension and mistrust leads Eliza to do what she wasn't going to do she embarrasses Scott and nearly looses him his job...... He is not at all forgiving.. When she is asked to do another job which just happens to be for his brother Aiden it is in the hope that she will see Scott again and can hopefully change his mind.... the story is well written and kept me intrigued from start to Finnish i cannot wait for the the next book 5 stars from me .. recommended reading J S Cooper is a must read
I'm done with JS Cooper books. I really liked her Ex Games series but after trying three other books by her, I've learned my lesson. The characters are so juvenile, one -dimensional, and the dialogue is grating and annoying making the story drag on and on. What has the potential to be a good story line, gets lost in the constant best friend conversation that sounds like junior high. These girls apparently can't do anything without consulting their best friends first. And the men who are all supposed to be wealthy and successful are just fine to go along with this nonsense. I guess I'm just not like this in relationships and don't understand people who think it's a good idea to play games. Elizabeth - also known as Eliza- is hot one second and cold the next so much so that I'd start to avoid her in real life. Apparently this is all due to her messed up dad.... and then later on it turns out her mom is messed up too. I feel like the author just decided to throw that in to - suddenly deciding on her character's backstory half -way through the book. Then *spoiler alert* it ends on a giant cliff-hanger - she's just about to really get involved with Scott when the ex she apparently can't get over shows up with what seems to be either her long lost dad or possibly a child she gave up - but of course you have to get the next story to find out. Seriously this girl is trainwreck. Just don't bother starting down this path.
